Freshly Ground Honoured at U.S. Gala Dinner

South African award-winning band, Freshly Ground, is being honoured in America this evening for its social outreach programmes and music.
A leading New York- based non- profit social investment fund, Shared Interest, will bestow the prestigious, "Voices of the Next Generation" award on the band at a black-tie function in New York City. This will happen during the fund's 19th Anniversary Awards' Presentation Gala in the Gotham Hall.
Distinguished US and African leaders and top diplomats will gather for the celebratory event that recognises leaders for their commitment to economic democracy and development in Southern Africa.
Artist and activist, Harry Belafonte, as well as freedom fighter and activist, Father Michael Lapsley was also be honoured.
Freshly Ground is currently on a US tour.
