Bank Group Receives Governor for Niger

The AfDB on Monday, 18 January 2010, received the AfDB Governor for Niger, - Ali Mahaman Lamine Zeine.

While at the Bank, Mr. Zeine met with Bank Group President, Donald Kaberuka, with who he examined the country's political and economic situation. Discussions during the meeting also focused on reforms in the country and the need to speed up the implementation of the Kandadji dam project for which the AfDB is the major donor.

During the meeting, Mr. Zeine also discussed the creation of a rural development in the country; a project which requires the Bank's support. The discussions took place in the presence of the Executive Director for Niger, Frédéric Korsaga, and West Africa Operations Director, Janvier Litse.
