The last of the eleven rhinos that were translocated from Nairobi and Nakuru national parks to Tsavo East has died. It is believed to have died from injuries after it was attacked by a lion about a fortnight ago. The other 10 rhinos died in quick succession just days after being moved.
The animal’s condition worsened Saturday with Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) veterinary officers swinging into action to treat wounds inflicted on it late last month when a pride of lions attacked it
