Nigeria's Central Bank Urged to Hold Its Horses on Debt

Governors of the 36 States of the Federation have called on the Central Bank of Nigeria to suspend all funds' deductions from states and restructure their debt repayments. Chairperson of the Nigerian Governors' Forum, Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State, said that "such measures would help safeguard the liquidity of state governments and mitigate the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic ravaging the economy".
