Does a New Regime Mean a New Era for Burundi?
Philip Kleinfeld of The New Humanitarian has written that the appointment of a new government that includes ruling party hardliners - along with continuing accounts of violence and arrests of opposition supporters during the first few weeks of President Évariste Ndayishimiye's administration - suggests the prospect of change from the authoritarian rule of former president Pierre Nkurunziza remains slim.
