Uganda's Bobi Wine To Appear in Court Over Age Discrepancy
The Wakiso Chief Magistrate's court has ordered National Unity Platform President Robert Kyagulanyi to appear for three offences related to giving false information about his age. The summonses were issued by the Chief Magistrate Esther Lydia Nakadama Mubiru following a private prosecution case instituted against Kyagulanyi by Male Mabirizi. Mabirizi indicated that the National Identification Registration Authority has documents indicating that Bobi Wine's actual date of birth is February 2, 1980 as opposed to the official February 2, 1982, date the legislator uses. Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine is required to appear before the court on September 16, 2020.
