Feeding the Future With Cassava & Rice in Burkina Faso and Benin

The United States African Development Foundation (USADF) is marking the decade-long Feed the Future campaign, which enables partner organisations to target the root causes of poverty and hunger. The effort focuses on the most marginalized communities, where there are concentrations of poverty and hunger - with all the attendant social and health problems, including 'stunting', when children who are undernourished before their fifth birthdays will never be able to achieve their full mental or physical potential. Projects in Burkina Faso and Benin, which receive USADF grants, have produced expertise and contributed to economic stability for local agricultural producers.

The goal of economic empowerment of women is a cornerstone of this cooperative in Benin.
