Covid-19 Exposes South African Province's Healthcare Shortcomings
Covid-19 has highlighted what South Africans already knew about the Eastern Cape's health system: it's dysfunctional and on the verge of collapse, and a remedy is needed urgently, writes Anastasya Eliseeva for New Frame. This comes after an increased Covid-19 infection rate in the province. As of 23 November 2020, South Africa has confirmed 767,679 cases of Covid-19, 20,903 deaths, and 710,099 recoveries.
