Sonko Faces New Ouster Bid as He Refuses to Sign Nairobi Budget

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko's refusal to sign the county budget may just see him face impeachment, according to a group of ward representatives. Sonko has been at loggerheads with many government officials over the years, including President Uhuru Kenyatta, whom he has criticised for his Building Bridges Initiative. Roysambu Ward Representative Peter Warutere - a Sonko ally - has said plans are in motion to begin collecting signatures in support of the impeachment, but added that the scheme would fail.
