Afrobarometer - Making African Voices Heard and Heeded

Afrobarometer, the gold standard for independent opinion polls in Africa, is launching the tenth iteration of its surveys in up to 40 countries to measure the opinions of African people on the state of their lives, the performance of their governments, and their hopes for the future. In preparation, the Accra-based organization convened 100 people from 40 nations to discuss Africa's future and debate the questions to be asked in the surveys.

Riva Levinson, a Washington DC-based government relations strategist and member of Afrobarometer's international advisory board, provides a first-person account of the planning meeting and describes the organisation's 25-year journey.
