South African Universities Mired In Corruption, Infighting

Some of South Africa's most renowned universities, both in Africa and the world, have found themselves in the news - not for academic achievement but for in-fighting, corruption and even murder, writes Esther Rose for AllAfrica.

On August 7, 2023, Higher Education Minister Blade Nzimande informed the University of South Africa (UNISA), one of the universities under investigation for mismanagement and corruption, that he would be placing it under administration.
