South African Opposition Parties Form Charter to Beat Ruling ANC

Seven opposition parties - on the invitation of the country's official opposition the Democratic Alliance (DA) - have held a two-day coalition convention aimed at defeating the ruling African National Congress in 2024. The parties agreed on a Multi-Party Charter for South Africa covering their vision, priorities and shared governing principles, the Daily Maverick reports.

The seven parties were the DA, the Inkatha Freedom Pary (IFP), Freedom Front Plus (FF+), ActionSA, the United Independent Movement (UIM), Independent SA National Civic Organisation (Isanco) and the Spectrum National Party (SNP).
