Nollywood Actor Mr Ibu's Leg Amputated

Nollywood actor and comedian John Okafor, known as Mr Ibu, has lost one leg in a bid to save his life, his family has confirmed.

In October, Mr Ibu released a video asking for prayers and financial assistance after spending weeks in the hospital. He revealed that his doctors had recommended amputation to prevent the spread of his illness. His wife and daughter also joined in the appeal for help.

The actor celebrated his 62nd birthday in the hospital on October 17.

He is a renowned comic character in Nigeria's film industry, having appeared in over 200 Nollywood movies, including "Mr. Ibu", "Mr. Ibu and His Son," and "Mr. Ibu in London".
