Namibia Prepares for Geingob's Funeral and Burial

The memorial service for Namibia's late president Hage Geingob, who died on February on February 4, is scheduled to take place on February 23 with burial on February 24, President Nangolo Mbumba has announced.

The 82-year-old, who died from cancer, was the country's third president and a veteran of its liberation struggle. Mbumba was sworn in hours after the death, in accordance with the Constitution.

H.E. Dr. Nangolo Mbumba, President of the Republic of Namibia, and First Lady Sustjie Mbumba, along with H.E. Dr. Sam Nujoma, Founding President of the Republic of Namibia, and Madam Kovambo Nujoma, Former First Lady, came together today to pay tribute to the children and Madame Monica Geingos, Widow of the late President Hage G. Geingob.
