Kidnapped Nigeria's Leah Sharibu Turns 21 in Boko Haram Captivity

Six years have passed since Leah Sharibu, then 14 years old, was abducted by Boko Haram from her school in Dapchi, Yobe State. Now a 21-year-old woman, she remains captive.

Despite the countless promises made and the international outcry that followed, Leah's freedom has yet to be secured.

Leah was among 110 girls who were kidnapped from their school in Dapchi in February 2018. While the militants released the other schoolgirls, Leah was held captive because she allegedly refused to renounce her religion and convert to Islam.
