Malawi Announces 21 Days of Mourning for VP Chilima

The government has announced that the Vice President of Malawi, Dr. Saulos Chilima, along with nine other passengers, tragically lost their lives in a plane crash in the Chikangawa mountain range. 

President Lazarus Chakwera declared a national day of mourning and the government has also announced a 21-day mourning period. 

The Office of the President and Cabinet in Malawi reported that the aircraft departed from Lilongwe slightly after 9 am but did not successfully land as planned at Mzuzu International Airport.
