Calls for Investigation into Malawi VP's Deadly Plane Crash

Ben Chilima, brother of the late Vice-President Saulos Chilima, has asked the government to institute a "comprehensive" inquiry into the plane crash that killed the VP and eight others to help the country avoid an accident of a similar nature in the future.

Chilima was killed when a military aircraft on an internal flight crashed into Malawi's Chikangawa Forest in dense fog on 10th June 2024. He will be laid to rest in his home village in the Ntcheu district.

Meanwhile, the Human Rights Consultative Committee (HRCC) has expressed deep disappointment over the direct attacks aimed at public officers, including the president, in the wake of the tragic plane crash that claimed the life of Vice President Saulos Chilima and others.
