Libyans Arrested in South African 'Military Camp' Deported

South African prosecutors have dropped charges against 95 Libyan nationals who were detained on suspicion of receiving training at an illegal military camp

National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Monica Nyuswa said the case was dismissed due to lack of evidence. The men now face charges solely for violating South Africa's immigration laws and will be deported back to Libya.

The group was arrested in July following a raid by South African police on a farm in White River, a small town in Mpumalanga province. During the raid, authorities allegedly discovered licensed firearms, military tents, and illicit drugs, including cocaine and cannabis, at the camp.
