Senegal's PM Sonko Cancels First Official Trip to France

Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko has turned down what would have been his first official trip to France, citing scheduling conflict. Some analysts have, however, said the cancellation could be a reflection of Sonko's political views, given his sovereignist discourse and strong stance against France.

Others cite the August visit to Paris of President Bassirou Faye, saying it might not be appropriate for the PM to follow within a month.
