World's Top Cyclists Descend On Rwanda For Annual Race

The annual cycling championship promoted by the Union Cycliste Internationale is taking place in the Rwandan capital, Kigale -the first time the event is hosted on the continent. The competition, scheduled to take place from September 21-28, puts the central African nation, known as the "Land of a Thousand Hills," in the global spotlight. 

The competition will feature thirteen events, with five elite world titles on offer. Top cyclists, including Tour de France Champions, Tadel Pogacar and Pauline Ferrand-Prevot, are participating in the high-stakes competition.

Thousands of sports enthusiasts and tourists have arrived in the country for the prestigious event, as Rwandans urged their government to use the opportunity to tout the country's business potential in order to attract foreign investors and tourism operators
