Mozambican Police Officers Missing After Cabo Delgado Attack

An unspecified number of police officers have been reported missing after an attack on a mining site in the country's northern Cabo Delgado province. The raiders, believed to be Islamist militants, set alight various mining equipment, as well as vehicles and motorcycles.

The raid led to an interruption of mining activities in the area as miners abandoned the site. Through its channels, the Islamic State terrorist group claimed responsibility for the attack, saying it caused significant damage.
