Ghana Recalls High Commissioner to Nigeria After Fraud Claims

President John Mahama has instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to immediately recall the country's High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mohammed Baba Jamal Ahmed, following allegations linking him to electoral malpractice during a party primary in Ghana.

Ahmed is accused of voter inducement and vote buying during the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primary. Although serving as Ghana's envoy to Nigeria at the time, he was also a contestant in the race. Delegates were reportedly offered television sets and food. Ahmed has maintained that the items were gestures of goodwill and not intended to influence the vote.
