Luanda — Mass events, rallies and direct contact with voters, with the aim of passing on the contents of the manifestos and government programmes of the seven parties and one coalition, marked the 18th day of the Electoral Campaign for the Angolan General Elections, scheduled for 24 August, 2022.
PHA
The Humanist Party of Angola (PHA) used the 18th day of the campaign to conclude the training of its delegates in Lunda Norte and Bengo provinces.
In the province of Huíla, the party led by Florbela Malaquias, the only woman among the eight candidates for President of the Republic, promoted door-to-door campaigns in the municipalities of Caconda, Chipindo and Cuvango.
In Benguela, PHA´s representative, Deise António, presented in Bocoio the party´s master plan and said that it will adopt a policy of allocating subsidies to the neediest families.
P-NJANGO
The candidate for President of the Republic for P-NJANGO, Eduardo Chingunji, promised in Cuito Municipality of Bié Province, a transparent management of the country's wealth, so that it can benefit everybody.
Dinho Chingunji´s goal is to work for the improvement of the management of the revenues coming from the oil, diamonds, wood and other riches provided by Angola´s soil.
UNITA
On its ten minutes of airtime on Angola National Radio station (RNA), the candidate for Member of Parliament, Justino Pinto de Andrade said that for the next five years, UNITA promises to secure Angolans with a fund for unemployed people.
According to Justino Pinto de Andrade, if the party wins the elections and forms a government, its priority will be to protect all working age citizens who are unemployed.
The provincial secretary of Angola United Revolutionary Youth (JURA), youth wing of UNITA, in Uige Province, Simão Teca, urged the local youths to be guided by civility and respect for difference on election day (24 August), so that the general elections take place in a climate of peace and harmony.
FNLA
FNLA President Nimi a Simbi dismissed Pinto Luvambo, provincial secretary of the FNLA in Uige Province, "for reasons of internal organisation" of the party structures.
The position held by Pinto Luvambo, 88, for 17 years, will be on the responsibility of the management commission made up of three members until the time of the ballot on 24 August.
In Huambo Province, the party presented its programme for the 2022-2027 period to voters in the Municipality of Londuimbali.
Addressing the activists, the FNLA secretary in Huambo, José Ukuassapi in case of winning general elections, reiterated his party's focus on promoting sustainable family farming, as the basis for fighting hunger and poverty.
CASA-CE
The candidate for President of the Republic for CASA-CE, Manuel Fernandes, led a mass rally in Huila Province, where he promised to give more dignity to the security forces, improve the health system and fight for quality education, if he wins the elections.
APN
The president of the National Patriotic Alliance (APN), Quintino Moreira, advocated fair wages for National Police officers "as a way of dignifying these professionals, who sacrifice a lot for social stability".
Speaking in Cuanza Norte, at a mass event, as part of the election campaign, the politician promised to pay a salary above 90,000 kwanzas, in case of winning on 24th August.
PRS
The leader of the Social Renewal Party (PRS), Benedito Daniel, promised in the mining town of Cafunfo, in the Municipality of Cuango, Lunda Norte Province, actions to fight environmental degradation and ravines progression, especially in the diamond producing areas.
At a meeting with voters in the town of Cafunfo, as part of the campaign for the general elections, PRS candidate said he would work with diamond and other mineral exploration companies to draw up a functional programme to preserve the environment and sealing of ravines, caused by mining activities.
MPLA
MPLA´s presidential candidate, João Lourenço, announced the construction of a new satellite city in Malanje Province with 2,500 houses.
Addressing a mass rally held at the Ferrovia field, in Malanje City, the MPLA leader said that the new city will have as much as ten times more the number of houses of Carreira de Tiro satellite city, currently under construction in the region.
In his speech, João Lourenço also promised that for over the next five years, to supply power produced by the Capanda and Laúca hydroelectric dams to the country´s 18 provinces, and said that the same power was already available in 10 provinces.

Accreditation
The National Electoral Commission (CNE) began Wednesday in Luanda to hand over the credentials of the delegates for the general elections.
In a symbolic ceremony held at the CNE headquarters, its president, Manuel Pereira da Silva, handed over the credentials of the delegates on the list of the eight candidates for the Municipality of Luanda.
In his speech, Lourenço also promised, over the next five years, to supply power produced by the Capanda and Lauca hydroelectric dams to the country's 18 provinces, and said that the same power was already available in 10 provinces.
Election Material
Over 68 tons of sensitive electoral material, made up of ballot boxes, ballot papers, minutes and indelible ink, for the 24 August, General Elections were delivered in Luanda to the National Electoral Commission (CNE).
The CNE spokesperson, Lucas Quilundo, said that this was the last batch of material for the elections, after over the last two months logistics had been received in four shipments by sea and ten by plane.
