press release

A team of Roodepan SAPS detectives traced and arrested seven suspects who have been evading court appearance dates and have been on the run from the police after being released on bail in August 2022.

The seven suspects were initially arrested on allegations of brutally killing a 34-year-old male victim at a farm near Roodepan in August 2022 and were re-arrested on a farm near Soutpan in the Free State Province on Wednesday, 28 February 2024 on a warrant of arrest issued by the Court.

The suspects, who are between 26 and 30, will appear in the Kimberley Magistrates Court on Friday, 01 March 2024.

The Northern Cape Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Koliswa Otola praised the investigation team led by Sergeant Philladelphia Snyders for ensuring that perpetrators of contact crimes are brought to book.

She invites the public to rate the police efforts in fighting contact crimes by participating in the "RATE OUR SERVICE" online survey to assist the police in improving services.
