Cable Theft Cause of Elandsfontein Train Collision - Metrorail

A forensic team has now retrieved the body of a man killed in this morning's train collision at The Elandsfontein Railway Station. One hundred and two other passengers are in a critical but stable condition following the accident and have been taken to various hospitals. One of the trains, a Business Express was traveling from Pretoria to Johannesburg and the other from the railway station to Tembisa when they collided. Metrorail says the theft of signal cables may have caused the accident.
