With the goal of simplifying the often complex process of obtaining financing for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME), the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB) in partnership with Bank Windhoek will host the pilot MSME Finance Symposium.
This vital knowledge exchange platform exists with the objective to demystify the process of successfully securing funds from both banking and non-banking institutions and empowering them to access the financial products available in the local market.
MSMEs face considerable challenges when it comes to accessing finance, including limited awareness of financing products and stringent requirements from financial institutions. Recognising the crucial role that MSMEs play in the Namibian economy, the Symposium seeks to emphasise the importance of understanding the financial products and resources available to MSMEs, clarifying the prerequisites for obtaining funds at different growth stages and ensuring MSMEs are both aware and prepared to leverage these opportunities with greater confidence.
Aligned with NIPDB's strategic objective to coordinate MSME activities across all levers of the economy, the MSME Finance Symposium exists to unlock opportunities that foster the growth of sustainable businesses that contribute to the growth of Namibia's economy. The seminar will also explore the potential for increased collaboration between the private sector and government to further enhance their economic impact.
