Banks, MTN Nigeria at Odds Over Who Ordered Phone Charges
Nigerian banks have denied asking MTN Nigeria to impose a new charge on customers for using the telecom firm's access codes to conduct financial transactions. MTN announced a U.S.$0,011 charge for every 20 seconds of using unstructured supplementary service data (USSD) bank codes, claiming it took the decision as requested by the banks.
