Nigerian Prison Boss, Doctor Nabbed After Fraud

Authorities have arrested Emmanuel Oluwaniyi, the Comptroller of the Nigerian Correctional Service in Lagos and Hemesin Edwin, a medical doctor and Deputy Controller. The pair allegedly falsified medical reports that gave convicted Internet fraudster Hope Olusegun Aroke, who is serving a 24-year jail term, permission to be treated outside the prison. He then had access to a mobile phone and the Internet, to run a scam of over U.S.$1 million.
