Uganda Court Awards Compensation to Stella Nyanzi for Travel Ban
The High Court in Kampala has awarded former Makerere University research fellow and activist, Stella Nyanzi over U.S.$13,000 in damages for the violation of her right to movement. In March 2017 Nyanzi was arrested at Entebbe International Airport while on her way to Amsterdam to attend a scholarly conference. She was being investigated for alleged offensive communication and the cyber harassment of President Yoweri Museveni.
