Stella Nyanzi Sentenced for Insulting Uganda's President Museveni

A Ugandan court has sentenced controversial Makerere University academic Stella Nyanzi to 18 months in jail after being convicted for cyber harassment. Nyanzi was charged with insulting President Yoweri Museveni, First Lady Janet Museveni and his late mother, Esteri Kokundeka, in a Facebook post. In 2017 she was also charged under the Computer Misuse Act of 2011 for referring to the president as "a pair of buttocks".
