CAF Drops AFCON 2021 Bombshell

A statement published on the Confederation of African Football's website said organisers had asked for the dates to be changed because of "the unfavourable weather conditions during the period initially scheduled". Following talks between African football's governing body and the Cameroon Football Federation (Fecafoot), it has been decided that the tournament instead will now take place in January and February 2021 - right in the middle of Europe's domestic football season.
