Nigeria Denies Plan to Hand Over Abacha Looted Funds to Governor

The government has said that claims that it asked the United States to give U.S.$100 million from loots recovered from former military dictator Sani Abacha to Kebbi State governor Atiku Bagudu, were untrue. According to Bloomberg, the United States Department of Justice claimed that the payment was part of an agreement with the governor in 2018.
