Tanzania Wants U.S. Official to Clarify COVID-19 Twitter Claims

Tanzania's Foreign Affairs ministry has summoned the acting U.S. Ambassador Inmi Patterson, to clarify an advisory on COVID-19 cases in the country. The U.S. embassy's Twitter page claimed that Dar es Salaam is not safe due to a large numbers of COVID-19 cases, saying that many hospitals are overwhelmed. The government has described the report as untrue, saying it would likely cause distress for Tanzanians and foreign nationals.
