Tanzania to Register Fastest Economic Growth in East Africa

The country's economy is forecast to grow at 5.2% this year, while six Eastern African countries' economies are projected to plunge into recession, blaming the trend on the Covid-19 pandemic, according to the African Development Bank (AfDB) report. The report also predicts that despite the projected slowdown because of COVID-19, real GDP growth in Tanzania will benefit from the increased prices of gold, a major national export.
