World Bank Categorises Tanzania as Middle Income Country

Tanzania is among seven countries that moved to a higher category, while three others went down in their economic status for 2019. The country qualified for the status of lower middle-income after its income (GNI) per capita increased to U.S.$1,080 in 2019 from U.S.$1,020 in 2018. The news comes a new report shows that Tanzania's ranking on budget transparency is on the decline.
