Kenya Opts Against Lockdown Amid Spike in Covid-19 Cases
While addressing the nation on Covid-19 containment measures in Kenya, President Uhuru Kenyatta reiterated the need for seriousness as the country's infections spike. He has not imposed a lockdown of any kind as expected but announced instead that the nationwide 9pm to 5am curfew had been extended by another 30 days. The country currently has 17,975 Covid-19 cases and 280 deaths.
