New Surveys May Shed Light On South Africa's Covid-19 Epidemic

Multiple surveys designed to more accurately estimate how many people in the country have been infected with the novel coronavirus are under way, GroundUp reports.This comes after Health Minister Zweli Mkhize confirmed over 800,000 Covid-19 infections and reports of government failing to meet the payment deadline for participation in the initiative that would have given the country access to a Covid-19 vaccine. As of December 4, 2020, South Africa has 800,872 confirmed cases of Covid-19 of which 21,803 proved fatal and 739,367 resulted in recoveries.
