Racism in South Africa - What Has The ANC Done to Address It?

One of the sources of social discontent in post-apartheid South Africa is racism. This toxic legacy is evident in racialised poverty and inequality ... and it is a historical fact that the economic prosperity of whites in South Africa is based on the racist exploitation and impoverishment of blacks, writes Mandisi Majavu for The Conversation.

Majavu goes on to write that the African National Congress - the majority party in South Africa - has "never fully understood how white racism functions" and that the party is "ideologically trapped in the 19th century black Cape politics of Victorian liberalism".
