Kenya President Orders Budget Cuts Amid Global Economic Pressure

As part of austerity measures to ensure state agencies adjust to global economic crises, President William Ruto has directed government agencies to slash their expenditure by 10% in the current financial year, to align with available resources, writes Irene Mwangi for Capital FM.

Pressure has been mounting on the government to reduce the high cost of living triggered by rising food and fuel prices.

The government has also suspended unnecessary foreign trips by government officers to scale down expenditure.
