Guinea's Conde Under Scrutiny for Alleged Treason

Guinea's Justice Minister Alphonse Wright has reportedly announced that former president Alpha Conde, the first democratically elected leader of the country, is under renewed investigation for his alleged involvement in acts of treason, criminal conspiracy and complicity in the illicit possession of arms and ammunition, writes Jerry Chifamba for AllAfrica.

Conde was ousted by Colonel Mamady Doumbouya's special army squad in September 2021. The coup followed Conde's attempt to prolong his ten-year rule by a third term in office.
