Nigeria Central Bank Announces Measures to Tackle Cash Shortage

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has called on the public to report challenges they face accessing cash from commercial banks and ATMs in the country. The move comes amid growing complaints from individuals and businesses about restricted access to cash.

In a circular, the Central Bank mandated actors in the banking sector to ensure efficient cash management, while uring the public to name specific banks where they were unable get cash.

Nigeria has been grappling with worsening economic conditions which triggered the nationwide protest in August.
