Trade, Investment In Kenya Top Ruto's China Visit

President William Ruto is on a state visit to China, where he will participate in the Kenya-China Business Forum, which brings together 100 companies from both countries as they explore investment opportunities.

Ruto is also discussing with Chinese President Xi Jinping "shared economic transformation, sustainable development, and global cooperation".

A statement from the Kenyan Presidency said the visit "builds on the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership established in 2017, with Kenya recognised as China's leading Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) partner in Africa".

Analysts have said Kenya is looking to diversify its economy as the U.S ramps up the imposition of high tariffs on many countries worldwide, including Kenya.
