Somalia Scraps UAE's Port Deals Over Sovereignty Concerns

The Somali cabinet has annulled all security cooperation agreements with the United Arab Emirates (UAE), citing concerns regarding the East African nation's sovereignty. The move follows what the Somali government described as "strong evidence" of actions aimed at undermining the country's national unity and political independence.

According to an official statement, the decision specifically impacts bilateral agreements involving UAE-managed seaports in Somalia. Diplomatic relations between the two countries, which have been deteriorating for years, reached the lowest point recently following the UAE's alleged involvement in the recognition of Somaliland by Israel.
