How Body of Nigeria's Abubaker Was Recovered, Wife Rescued

The military has rescued Amina Abubakar, widow of the late Rabe Abubakar, during operations against bandits in Katsina State, after the retired major general's body was recovered.

The Katsina State government had confirmed the death of Major General Rabe Abubakar (rtd.), who was abducted with his wife around the Matazu area while traveling to a wedding.

Officials described the incident as a tragic loss to the state and the nation after the government and security agencies had made several attempts to secure his release.
