Cote d'Ivoire: Overview of Elephants at World Cup

18 June 2010

Cote d'Ivoire is seen by many as the African team with the potential to make the most impact in South Africa.

The Les Elephants starting eleven is packed with players from the world's top clubs: Chelsea, Arsenal, AS Monaco and Barcelona.

In their last World Cup outing, in Germany in 2006, they were eliminated in the first round in an extremely difficult group, after losing 2-1 to Argentina and the Netherlands but coming from two goals down to beat Serbia and Montenegro 3-2.

At the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations in Angola, they were eliminated in the quarterfinals by Ghana. So Didier Drogba and Les Elephants are going to South Africa with a lot to prove.
