Africa: CAF Women's Champions League - Huracanes-As Mandé Preview

San Pedro's Laurent Pokou Stadium plays host to a potential CAF Women's Champions League blockbuster fixture this evening, Monday, 06 November when Huracanes FC takes on AS Mande at 20h00 GMT.

Both sides are yet to make it to the semi-finals of this competition and will be looking at kicking off their campaign with a positive start.

Coach Moustapha Traore says his charges will be representing Mali and their presence at the tournament is not by chance.

Equally so, his counterpart, Severino Beseku Oyana says the appearance at the competition goes beyond them as a club, but will be about them representing Equatorial Guinea

Moustapha Laïco Traoré, coach of AS Mandé:

"We showed character in the qualifiers in Liberia and we are here now. We are here because we deserve it and we are determined to play. We are targeting a place in the place our semi-finals and think this is achievable. The state of mind in the group is good. We feel good and at home in Ivory Coast, we were well received and ready to give it our best".

Severino Beseku Oyana, coach of Huracanes FC:

"It will be our first match in this competition, we will have fun. We are here to play and the most important thing for this first participation is to be fully attentive,. We play for the club but we will represent our country, Equatorial Guinea and Central Africa. We are determined to make a good impression".

The Statistics:

AS Mandé have never kept a clean sheet in their first participation in the competition in 2021. The Malian novices fell twice before a 1-1 draw in their last outing against Malabo Kings.

*The Malians lost their first match in 2021 to Wadi Degla of Egypt (3-1) before losing the second time against Hasaacas Ladies.

*AS Mandé in three Women's Champions League matches, scored two goals and conceded 7 goals.
