How is Africa Doing on Corruption?

Corruption levels vary widely across Africa, as they do throughout the world. On the latest Corruption Perceptions Index issued by the global watchdog Transparency International, four countries in sub Saharan Africa scored 50 or higher, while a number of others crowd together at the bottom. Botswana tops the list of least corrupt, followed by Cape Verde, Mauritius, Rwanda and Namibia. Those on the other end include Angola, Eritrea, Guinea Bissau, Sudan, South Sudan and Somalia.
