Kenya Says Laikipia Tourists Are Safe Following Rancher Killing

According to the Daily Nation, the proliferation of arms among pastoralists, the lack of dialogue over historical grievances linked to animal grazing access, water rights and land ownership and severe drought have all contributed towards insecurity in Laikipia County over several years. This follows the death of British rancher Tristan Voorspuy, who was killed after armed herders invaded the Sosian ranch which he co-owned.
