Highs and Lows of the Biafra Sit-At-Home Campaign

The sit-at-home order by pro-Biafran groups, requesting people to stay away from work and school, achieved strong support in the south-east of the country, while in others it was not adhered to. The day was set aside to commemorate the 3-year period in 1967 when the Biafran people announced their secession from Nigeria, as an independent state. Meanwhile the whereabouts of Biafra leader Nnamdi Kanu who has been in custody since 2017, is still not known.
