The Malawi Congress Party President Lazarus Chakwera, has described the torching of his southern regional headquarters in Blantyre as "a clear cowardly act". His party has been lobbying to annul the result of the May 2019 presidential election, which has led to protests since President Peter Mutharika won a second term.
